These days the city is enjoying warm weather. temperatures going all the way to 83F 28C in the city. however the levels of pollution have risen considerably. so the government decided to modify the no car for a day program. It was created in 1989 to help bring down the levels of air pollution. At the very beginning you could see some improvements in the air quality but that dissapeared due to an in crease in numbers of cars on the streets. now you are not allowed to use your car two days a week incluiding new cars.
Many people are not happy about these restrictions because pollution levels are not going down so there is another problem, public, construction buses and trucks contribute significantly to the problem but they are allowed to transit every day so nature will solve the problem like it always has before with wind and rain. we just need to wait for that to come...
