This fountain is locates in the south of the city close to Insurgentes avenue and the metro station with the same name is known as the Cibeles, donated by the Spanish residents in Mexico and inaugurated in 1980 it's an exact replica of the original in Spain.
This fountain represents the goddess Cibel riding a chariot pulled by two lions.
The original fountain located in the city of Madrid Spain was built between 1777 and 1782 and now the plaza where it's located is sometimes used as a place for celebrations of sporting events.
