Basilica of Guadalupe

I recently visited the Basilica of Guadalupe and took these pictures. it's a very nice and interesting place.
The old Basilica (left) was built by the Spanish in the 17th Century. It had the image of the Virgin Mary
that appeared on the clothing of an indigenous servant named Juan Diego. Later in the 1970's
a new Basilica was built (right) and the image was moved to it's current location.

Inside the new Basilica you can see the original image of the
Virgin Mary in the center.

On December 12th a lot of people gather here to celebrate the day of the Virgin Mary.
In 2010 the city expects almost five million people to gather here for the celebration.
